Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to our family and friends. We had a very blessed Christmas spending a week in Oklahoma and then coming home to Tucson with Jeremy's sister and her family here for the next week. We got to see lots of family and friends while we were in Oklahoma, or more importantaly they got to see Gunnar. He's more than kind of the highlight of our trip now-a-days. Gunnar enjoyed the wrapping paper more than anything, but he is very thankful for the presents he received. The weather was pretty nice while we were there so we were able to take some good walks with Gunnar in his stroller with Grammy. It was also nice to see my younger brother, Cory, who is finishing up his last semester at Gonzaga. We had not seen him since July...so we were long over due. Grammy is always very excited for anytime she can have Gunnar to herself so a few nights we were able to get out to have some fun with our friends. Thank you so much Grammy!
Jeremy was really anxious to get back to Tucson, as his two neices, Ava and Hailey, were waiting for us. It is always so nice to see his sister's family...we don't get to see them enough. His sister is so wonderful and such a great mother to her two beautiful girls. We would head over to his Grandma's house straight from work the entire week they were here. I got to watch High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock many of times, I might add. Ava has this thing were if a new person comes over to what she thinks watch the movie, she starts it over. So...I think I watched the beginning of HSM2 about 7 times before we actually got through the movie. The girls absolutely loved Gunnar. Ava would carry him and then always ask me to readjust him for her because they both were getting a little uncomfortable. Jeremy's grandma and mom split the day on Friday to watch Gunnar so Aunt Megan got her chance to have him on friday. We really appreciate you guys and your help! On Saturday, before Meg and the fam took off back to Seattle we had family pictures so hopefully I will get a few of them up on the blog soon. It was Jeremy's moms idea, but a real struggle to get a few of them in the picture. Jeremy's grandma hates having her picture taken.
Jeremy's grandma was nice enough to watch Gunnar for us as we went to lunch with his family before Meg left. This is when we learned of the tragedy in Tucson. It has been a real challenging week, but we thank the Lord for...all the lives that were saved, for all the courageous men and women at the scene that worked so hard to spare many lives, and for the many medical professionals that worked on many of the patients. We pray for the families who lost a loved one and that the Lord will comfort them in their difficult times that lie ahead. We pray for the ones who are still recooperating and that the Lord will give them the strength they need to get better. We also lift up the people of Tucson has the tragedy has affected anyone here. We thank you Lord that you are always so faithful to answer our prayers.
